Goldstein's History Page


Dr. Goldstein received his Ph.D. from University of Michigan in 2000. He was the 2006 recipient of the Center for Teaching and Curriculum's Excellence in Teaching Award. His research interests include modern Jewish history, American Jewish history and culture, and American social and cultural history. His publications include: The Price of Whiteness: Jews, Race and American Identity (2006), To Life: A History of the Jews of Atlanta (2006), and Traders and Transports: The Jews of Colonial Maryland (1993). He is also the editor of American Jewish History, a quarterly scholarly journal of the American Jewish Historical Society. In 2008, he received the Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature Choice Award, awarded by the Jewish Book Council, for The Price of Whiteness.
