Lauren Skiba Rosenstock
Lauren Skiba Rosenstock graduated from Emory College in 2006 with a double major in Jewish Studies and Middle Eastern Studies, as well as a minor in Hebrew. She was drawn to major in Jewish Studies for several reasons: an engaging faculty, a unique study abroad experience, and a desire to engage more fully with her Jewish background. Jewish Studies courses “taught me how to think, how to write, and how to present. It was a really nurturing, small program, and I really loved it,” Lauren reflects.
After graduating from Emory, Lauren moved to Israel for a year to study at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, with a particular interest in original texts. Following this experience, she began pursuing her master’s degree at Columbia University’s School of Social Work, where she was drawn to psychoanalytic literature. After graduating from Columbia in 2012, Lauren worked in a clinic, treating survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence. From there, she went on to complete a psychoanalytic psychotherapy certificate with the Metropolitan Center for Mental Health in 2016 and earn an additional certificate in psychoanalysis from the Contemporary Freudian Society in 2024. A lifelong learner, Lauren currently teaches different models of psychoanalytic development and runs a psychotherapy and psychoanalysis private practice in NYC.
